Owner & Clinical Director

Jackelyn founded Activate with her husband, Khiry, so Frisco families could work with a clinic where the person who designs your child's plan knows your family by name. She oversees every care plan and works side by side with parents through coaching and our Open Door Policy.

How we work with families

Learning together, at our center and at home

Your child's time with us is just one part of their week. So much of their growth happens at home, at the dinner table, at bedtime and on the way out the door. That's why we see parents as true partners in care.

  • Learn the strategies with us. Through parent coaching, your child's BCBA walks you through the same strategies we use in sessions, so you can use them with confidence at home.
  • Keep things consistent. When home and our center use the same words, routines and supports, your child gets clear, predictable expectations, and new skills have more chances to carry over into daily life.
  • Our door is open. With our Open Door Policy, you're always welcome to ask questions, share what you're seeing at home and stay involved.

Everything we do is built around helping your child gain independence in everyday moments, at a pace that's right for them.

Our approach

How ABA therapy is provided

Every program is designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Therapy is delivered 1-on-1 by Registered Behavior Technicians.

  • Family-owned and BCBA-led
  • For children with autism, 12 months to 8 years
  • All therapy at our Frisco center
  • Most insurance accepted, including BCBS & Medicaid
Is therapy at the center or at home?

All therapy happens at our Frisco center, because we believe that's where we can do our best work with your child. Our space is designed for learning, with toys and materials chosen to build new skills through play. BCBAs supervise sessions directly, so your child's plan can be adjusted right away. Your child also gets to practice social skills with other kids, like sharing, taking turns and playing together. We don't offer in-home ABA.

Who will work with my child?

Every program is led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who does the assessment, writes your child's plan and coaches parents. Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) work with your child during sessions, under BCBA supervision. Our clinical director is Jackelyn "Jacky" Ramirez-Kemp, M.A., BCBA, LBA.

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to get started?

You can reach out either way. Any answer is okay. Most insurance plans need an autism diagnosis before they cover ABA. If your child doesn't have one yet, we'll talk through where you are and explain the next steps, including where families can get an evaluation.

How much does ABA therapy cost?

It depends on your insurance plan, so there's no single price. Before anything starts, we do a free insurance verification. We contact your plan, confirm your ABA benefits, and explain your copays, deductible and out-of-pocket costs in plain language, so you know what to expect before you decide.
