Under one roof
Speech therapy at our center
No need to drop off at ABA, pick up, drive to speech, and come back again. Licensed SLPs from carefully selected local partners come to our Frisco center, so speech can often fit into the same day as ABA. Sessions are sometimes held at the partner's office instead.
- Licensed speech-language pathologists
- Most sessions right here at our center
- Coordinated around your child's ABA schedule

Clinical oversight: Jackelyn "Jacky" Ramirez-Kemp, M.A., BCBA, LBA, Owner & Clinical Director
Read our story"Frisco has been in need of more quality ABA services for a long time, and I'm so glad Activate Behavioral Solutions has opened up. Being an independent clinic, you can tell from the start that their focus is truly on quality care, not just numbers. I had the chance to speak with Jacky, the owner, and it was clear how much heart and dedication she puts into her work. She's passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about the families she serves. It's refreshing to see a place where clients aren't just another case file. This clinic is going to be such an asset to the community."
Clear goals and reporting
Data-driven goals, transparent reporting and a team parents trust.
From assessment to first session
How care begins
Assessment
Your BCBA meets your child and completes a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and a skills assessment, often the VB-MAPP.
Treatment plan
Your BCBA writes your child's plan, goes through the goals with you and recommends how many hours of therapy your child needs.
Insurance authorization
We submit the plan to your insurance for approval and take care of the paperwork. Most insurance accepted, including BCBS & Medicaid.
Your schedule
We sit down with you to set your child's schedule, Monday through Friday.
First sessions
Your child begins 1‑on‑1 sessions with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), supervised by your BCBA, and parent coaching starts as part of the plan.
Ongoing reviews
Your BCBA reviews session data, goes over progress with you and updates goals as your child grows.
Start dates depend on benefits verification and scheduling availability.
We serve families in English, Spanish and Korean.
If your child also needs speech therapy, we'll help coordinate sessions with our local SLP partners around their ABA schedule.
Program questions
Questions about our programs
What does a typical session look like?+
Each session is structured yet engaging, in our therapy rooms with age-appropriate materials and toys. Sessions can include discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, play-based learning and social skill development. Your child's RBT works 1-on-1 with them, using positive reinforcement and recording data on each goal.
Do you offer early intervention for toddlers?+
Yes. Our early intervention starts at 12 months, and our programs serve children from 12 months to 8 years, so toddlers can begin 1-on-1 therapy and parent coaching early. Your BCBA chooses goals that fit your child's age and stage, such as early communication, play and daily routines.
What is a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)?+
An FBA helps your BCBA understand why a behavior happens and what your child gets from it, so the plan can teach a new skill that meets the same need.
What is the VB-MAPP?+
The VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) is a skills assessment that looks at language, play and social milestones. Your BCBA uses it to choose starting goals and to review them with you over time.
How do social-skills groups work?+
Children practice communication, turn-taking and play with peers, guided by our team. Your child's BCBA decides when group practice fits your child's goals.
What happens at an IEP meeting you attend?+
With your permission, your child's BCBA can share what's working at our center, suggest classroom strategies and help plan transitions with the school team.
Can siblings or other family members take part?+
Yes. Sibling and family support is part of our parent coaching, and family members are welcome to observe sessions under our Open Door Policy.
How do you track progress?+
Every child's progress is different. Every session includes data tracking on targeted skills and learning objectives. Your BCBA adjusts the plan as needed and shares visual progress reports with you.
How does speech therapy work with ABA at Activate?+
Licensed SLPs from carefully selected local partners provide speech therapy, and most sessions happen right at our Frisco center. That means speech can often fit into the same day as ABA. At our center, speech sessions are 30 minutes, and we schedule them around your child's ABA day, whether that's in the morning, midday or afternoon. Your child steps out for speech and goes right back to ABA, with no extra drive in between. Every child's schedule is different, and we'll work it out with you.
How is speech therapy billed?+
Our speech partners bill insurance themselves, separately from Activate. You'll get speech billing directly from the partner, and ABA billing from us. If you have coverage questions, we're happy to help you sort out what to ask.
